How to Fry fish in Your Skillet.

My Grandma who was an excellent hillbilly cook would pan fry trout in her cast iron skillet. Those pink fish were awesome.

Now this is the way to pan fry your fish in a cast iron skillet

(1). Rinse your pieces of fish and pat dry with a paper towel.

Now try this Lumberjack Skillet 16″

(2). Dip you fish in one of your secret family recipes.

(3).bread crum Heat about an inch of oil (my hillbilly relatives used bacon grease or lard rendered from a pig) at 365 degrees then add a cube of bread. If it browns within 45 second the fish are ready to fry.

(4). Fry a few pieces of your fish at a time. (you do not want to stack your fish because it will cook uneven) for about 4 or 5 minuets then the fish should be golden brown and flake with a fork. In order to maintain temperature return the heat to 365 degrees between batch. Now drain the you fish on paper towels.

So if you follow these instructions from the easy home cooking magazine you should be able to enjoy a hillbilly cooked meal of  pan fried fish in your cast iron skillet.
